Warranty or No Warranty

A recent client contacted me and had asked me about warranty’s. Although I don’t purchase warranty’s myself for laptop computers,  I think warranty’s are really like an insurance policy. If you are accident prone or the laptop will be used where it is subject to drops,spills it’s a safe bet to buy a policy.

While I will admit I have never used a Best Buy insurance policy nor am I familiar with their customer satisfaction rate. I will have to say that their warranty tends to be a bit higher than one you can purchase from squaretrade.com. At least with Squaretrade’s warranty you can decide if you would like to have a deductible or if you would prefer to have a 2 or even 3 year warranty vs Best Buys warranty. *Disclaimer* the warranty must be purchased within 30 days of owning the laptop.

For those of you that tend to have accidental mishaps or tend to have bad luck on big ticket item, Squaretrade offer warranties  other devices as well (e.g. Phones/Tablets/Appliances/TVs)..
